In September, Lt. Governor Dan Forest visited the Asheville area and included Dr. King’s Farms & Carolina Bison as one of his stops. Dr. King personally took him on a tour of the property, where he was introduced to our bison and Watusi herds as well as getting a glimpse of our deer and elk. The Lt. Governor and his assistant were delighted to hand feed the bison out of the window of Dr. King’s truck. Tiny, our biggest bull, was a huge ham and posed for lots of pictures. During the tour, the Lt. Governor expressed his support for what Dr. King is doing by stewarding these ancient breeds and increasing their genetic strength. It was a great honor and pleasure to have the Lt. Governor spend time on the farm and see our bison and other animals, “up close and personal.”
